hard drive problems

while doing some downloading my computer started acting really odd. started freezing up and just doing nothing. i was downloading some newzbin crap. well after logging back on the next time my computer wouldn't recognize my second hard drive, the one i downloaded everything too. i don't know if its overfilled or it has a bad sector or what. anyone know how i can fix this? are at least retrieved data from it? cause the computer wont even recognize it so i cant access it. any help would be awesome, i got a ton of crap on there i really don't want to loose. thanks, honestly i think i might have overfilled it or something so if theres anyway to get on it and delete crap.

Wait so...when you open up my computer it doesnt read your second hard drive? is that what your saying.

Does the hard drive turn on?
Does it show up in bios?
Is it sata?

If it does and is all the above, can you spot it in, right-click on my computer and go to MANAGE, then go to STORAGE, then DISK MANAGEMENT.

If it shows up there, what is the status, if it does not, then we have a problem.

it doesnt show up in bios and it doesnt show up in my computer..

i dont think it turns on, or if it does it locks up cause it freezes at the screen right before the windows loading screen every once in a while. its not the OS hard drive its just a storage as well..

If it doesn't show in the bios then its probably toast. If it wont power up then the likelyhood of recovering data short of a data recover $peciali$t is slim to none. There's always a chance that the lag of the power supply that it's hooked to went bad but I wouldn't hold my breath to long on that one.

I just lost 300 gig of shit on a drive that took a shit. Major bummer.....

I was having problems with my hard drive and it all came down to the RAID Drivers I was using. Might not be the same for you, but if you use SATA make sure to download the newest drivers form your motherboards website.

If it doesnt power on, check your cable, try a different molex.

If that still doesn't power it on, stick it in the freezer for a bit, then plug it in quickly and power it on, grab all you can off it if it stays on, and then use it for target practice.
